NLGJA Student Video Project

For the sixth consecutive year, ABC News is sponsoring the Student Video Project at the annual convention of the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA), which is being held in Washington, D.C. this August. Participating students will have a rare opportunity to work in an immersive setting with network television journalists who will help them shoot, write, edit and deliver polished packages that will be seen by the hundreds of working members of NLGJA at the end of the convention. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible, and the program is open to students of any sexual orientation. In addition to the mentorship and tutelage the students receive, the convention also provides important networking opportunities. Students are given the chance to attend select convention activities - and a number of recent alumni received offers from stations that found them through their work with the Student Project. The application deadline is Friday, April 11, 2008.
